Geoffrey M Hodgson教授，世界著名制度经济学家和演化经济学家，欧洲演化经济学会原主席、社会科学院院士、Journal of Institutional Economics主编。Hodgson教授出生于1946年，毕业于剑桥大学，现为英国哈特福德大学（University of Hertfordshire）教授、博士生导师，制度经济学研究中心主任，被聘为法国、奥地利、瑞典、日本、美国等多所大学的客座教授，并曾在剑桥大学任教8年。
在英国著名的Edward Elgar出版社举行的一次经济学家排名调查中（该调查依据引用率分析），Hodgson教授在现在1168名经济学家中名列64名，著名的Tom Coupe曾以650种社会科学期刊综合引用指数对所有在世1000名的经济学家进行了一次排名，Hodgson教授名列世界第62位，英国第二。迄今为止，Hodgson教授已经出版10多部专著和170多篇学术论文。作为当代制度经济学和演化经济学的杰出经济学，Hodgson教授复兴了旧制度经济学派的研究方法，并对其进行全面的创新，开创了“制度演化经济学”这一经济学的崭新领域。Hodgson教授的研究成果已成为从事制度经济学和演化经济学研究的学者必不可少的参考文献
